Holi is Coming!

 Tomorrow is Holi.  yesterday they celebrated Holi at the girls' School :)

 The markets are full of people selling water guns, colored powder, water balloons and anything else you'd need for Holi :)

Aashini's Speaking Competition

Aashini had a speaking competition at school in November.  With all my vertigo, I'm quite behind on some things (like blog posts) but I really wanted to post about this :)

For this speaking competition, the kids were supposed to tell a story.

 I think this little boy is so cute :)  His name is Ranveer and he has a twin brother in another class :)   He told the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears.  Every kid had to have a visual aid to go with their story.  I thought his was funny with The Little Mermaid as Goldilocks and Whinnie the Pooh as the three bears :)

 This is Aashini's little friend Kritika.

 This is Aashini's "best friend" Aura.  She's super cute :)  Look at her "visual aid" :)  The bear is eating a man! haha!

 Aashini told "The Boy who Cried Wolf".  Most kids told Aesop Fable stories.  We thought this one was a good one for her to know :)  That's her teacher in the purple adjusting her mic.

 After they all told their "introduction" and their stories, the teachers tallied the results.  There were 3 judges that wrote up scores for the kids.  While we were waiting for the results, they turned on the music and had the kids all go on stage and dance :)  It was hilarious!   You can see Aashini doing some of her "white girl dance moves here" :)

 These are the first place winners!  Aashini, Myra and Ranveer!  Diya ran up on stage with Aashini but once she saw the large audience looking at her, she freaked out and cried - haha!  poor thing!

Comic Con - the Kiddos :)

 The kids had fun at Comic Con :) (to see the other post on Comic Con, Click HERE).  We ran into a friend there, and their daughter was dressed up like Spiderman too! :)

 They had a guy there painting faces.  He only painted one thing... this weird dog from their comic book.... the girls thought it was cool... so guess that's all that matters :) haha!

 The Avengers booth had a good face painting guy! He  painted Spiderman on Aashini's hand....

 He asked Diya if she wanted a flower or a heart... but she wanted Spiderman too :) haha!

School Days!

I thought it was time to post more on Aashini's School :)  She's in Nursery which is like "Pre-K" in the US.  Next year she'll be in "Prep" which is Kindergarten.   Anyway, here is a picture of Aashini with her class on a Field Trip.  This picture (along with some of the others) are pictures the school took of the kids :)

This is a picture of Aashini with her teachers.   The teacher on the right is the head teacher - Sarika, and the teacher on the left is Nisha.  Aashini calls them Sarika Ma'am and Nisha Ma'am.  All of the classes at her school have 2 teachers and 2 helpers.  

 This is her classroom.  I took this picture one day when we were at a parent teacher conference.  The desks were all stacked on the side of the room, so this isn't how it's normally set up.  This is the room they do their "classwork" in.  They have different rooms for different activities.  They have the smartboard room, the computer room, play/game room, movie room, roller skating rink, taekwondo area, etc...

 This is an old paper from September (and a really bad picture of it) but we get one of these at the end of each week that tells us what they did and learned that week.  They've done so much lately that these papers have been so full!  I'll have to post another one soon :)

 Aashini has homework 3-4 days a week.  Here is one of her English homework assignments in her English Notebook (or her "English Copy" as we say here... it's a British thing...) :)

 They celebrate all the holidays at her school!  Here she at school on Diwali.  All the kids posed with a plate of flowers :)

 This is another picture the school took of Aashini in one of the puzzle/game rooms at school.  I love the hair of the little girl next to her :)

 This is Aashini's weekly schedule.  It's not a great picture because I was trying to sneak a picture of it one day :) haha! 

Here is Aashini in her exercise class :)  They also do Taekwondo one day a week, and Roller Skating one day a week (but since they do the skating outside, they don't do it during the winter time :))

 Her school does quite a few field trips a year.  Here is a picture from the Train Museum.  They've been there a couple of times this year as well as the zoo a couple of times, and an aquarium.

  This is my favorite room at the school.... the MOVIE THEATER!   Usually once a month or every other month they have a movie day.  

We've been really impressed with her school.

All About Diya

Here are some fun pictures of Diya recently :)

I've been bad at posting lately, but I have so many pictures to post!  Here are some fun ones :)

We did bumper cars the other day at one of the malls :)  The girls thought it was AWESOME!!

 The girls like to sit together and color some days :)  On this day Diya's bunny needed to sit with them too :)

 Dora came to the mall the other day!  Diya was soooo excited!

Fun Friends!

While in Nepal we got to meet up with some fun friends we haven't seen in a while :)

 We met up with some other friends at an amazing 2 story play place!!!!!  It was awesome!  The kiddos LOVED it!
