Kite Festival!

The other day we went to a Kite Festival with our friends Ranjit & Deepa and their kids :)
The kiddos LOVED the kites :)  I love Diya's excitement in this picture :)
There were some pretty cool kites!
The kids loved being there and running all around in the grass :)
This guy was doing some really cool moves with this kite!  Aashini LOVED it!!
The guy was really good with the kite! (except when the wind went crazy and it wacked me in the head! haha!). You can see a video of the kite :) You can't see it hit me in the head, but you see when it happened :) haha!
After the kites were done we ate the food that we snuck in :)  (And we had our first Macaroons!)
The kiddos had fun running around and playing.
...and a funny picture of Deepa and Me :)
Afterwards we went to the play place and had fun! :)
The guys..

Christmas 2012

Christmas!  We had a great Christmas this year!
The girls had fun decorating our Christmas tree :)
Of course they had to decorate the tree while wearing dress-up clothes.... just about everything they do at home requires them to wear dress-up clothes :) haha!
The Sunday before Christmas the Hindi Church Kids did a cute performance :)
Here are the Hindi Church kids with their Christmas Presents :)
Diya loved playing with the tree :)
We decorated a gingerbread house this year :)
Diya loved the icing :) haha!
Diya always poses when I pull out the camera :) haha!
 Here's our Gingerbread House! :)
We always celebrate Christmas as a family on Christmas Eve :)  Since the girls have school on Christmas Eve, we celebrated when they woke up from their naps :)  Here they are waiting to go into the living room and open their presents :)
You can see that Aashini is still a little sleepy :) haha!
Diya was excited about opening her presents :)
Here's little Cindy Lou Who getting ready to go to bed on Christmas Eve :)
Christmas Morning!  The girls are all dressed up to go to Church! ;)
After church we went to our friend's house with some friends to eat and have fun :)  Here's our friend Faisal with the Gingerbread house :)
I just thought this picture was cute :)
The kiddos eyeing the sweets! :)
We ended the day with some Speed Uno! :)
Here are the girls enjoying their new microphones :)
On the 26th the girls had a Christmas party at school... they were supposed to dress up like Santa or a Fairy :)  Here are the girls (without their wings :))
It was a great Christmas!!

Diya's Fancy Dress Competition!

Diya had her first "Fancy Dress Competition" a month back.  She chose to be a "Fashion Designer" :) haha!    Diya is all into fashion.  She knew when colors matched before she knew the names of colors! haha!  We always ask her for fashion advice :) haha!
The other kids dressed up like all sorts of things... Religi0us leaders, political positions, different food items, job/occupations, etc...

This is Diya's best friend. She dressed up as Healthy Food vs. Junk Food... I think they forgot arm holes in her costume :)

Her other good friend had an interesting topic too... It was against b0mbs.  It was pretty graphic for a Pre-K speaking competition (notice the picture with the leg blown off... you should have seen the back!)
This is the bully in Diya's class.... he looks like a bully hunh?
I love this kid :)  He made the best faces :)   He talked against Dowry.
 Here's Diya speaking!!!
Here she is running off when she was done! haha!
They made her come back up and pose for pics (which she had NO trouble doing :) haha!) :)
This is the kid that won the speaking competition :)  he was so cute!
They turned on some music and let the kids dance while the tallied the scores.
The music got loud at one point and the kids thought it was funny :)  (This girl is one year older than all the other kids in their class... that's why she's so tall!)
 Diya dancing!
She had a good time! haha!
Here's the video of the competition :)

Funny Diya!

Diya "Speaking Hindi".  I'm not sure if she's really speaking Hindi or just saying some real Hindi with some "made-up words" mixed in, but she says it with such inflection (or drama) haha!  She cracks me up :) (oh, and we had just taken her hair down, that's why it looks crazy)...
