Aashini has been talking up a storm lately. It's so cute to hear her talk. She's even been putting words together lately. She likes to point to something and say: "Ball, it's a ball". It makes me laugh :)
Parenting is a funny thing. There are definitely many strong opinions out there about how things should be done. South Asians are no different from Americans in that aspect. It's pretty interesting to see some of the parenting advice we get or things we see that are typically done here. One thing that is interesting to me is that most kids aren't really disciplined until they are about 6 years old! They don't like kids to cry, so they'll give them anything they want and wait to discipline until they are older.
Another interesting thing is that most kids are hand-fed until they are around 4 years old! You can see in the picture below the Ayah (nanny) on the left is feeding the little girl. She was over 3 years old and was being hand-fed her entire meal - and she was eating pizza! haha! Aashini was very intrigued.
And, on another random note... here's a very unflattering picture of me playing Wii ... I can't think of a better way for a pregnant girl to play - I was pretty comfortable :) haha!Anyway, that's just a little bit of this and that for now :)

I knew about the discipline, but not about the spoon feeding! Good little cultural tidbits.
And very fun picture of you! :)
I love learning about your life there. So interesting! Love you friend.

Interesting! So if someone there hears you get on to "A" do they say anything to you about it? Or if they see her feeding herself? just curious!
What a great picture of you! I can't wait til I get to be pregnant again:)
Oh and Isaac STILL doesn't talk :( He's super good at sign language and understands everything (even holds up his finger when we sing "This little light of mine") but refuses to say words. I can't wait for even just some clear words!
