First Flight!!

Aashini made it through her first flight!!! The airport in the Capital has been crazy lately with all the construction... so it takes about 3-4 hours to get through the whole thing... BUT, not for us!!! So, after we checked in (we got to check in at the first class counter with no waiting because we had a baby! ) Then, there was a line for passport control... it was a line that took people about 2 hours to get through... well, the lady that checked us in at the first class counter, escorted us to the FRONT of that line (so we only had to wait a couple of minutes). So, for the rest of the trip we got to go to the front of lines becasuse we had a baby! It was awesome!! So, on the flight, we got the bulkhead with the bassinet. It was great!! Aashini did great and took an awesome nap!
I on the other hand, didn't do so good... I get dehydrated very easily for some reason, and I didn't take into the fact that I can get dehydrated very easily on a plane AND I'm nursing, so, I got dehydrated and was REALLY sick for the end of the flight. I was sooo nauseous... no fun. I'm just now recovering!! BUT I did get to see a movie before I got sick... I finally got to see Enchanted - it was fun ;)
BUT, Aashini did great! We flew Qatar Airways and it was awesome! They gave Aashini this awesome stuffed airplane that vibrates. She loved it :)

Ok so I didn't see this before my comment on the other site. So glad they took such good care of you all. Keep drinking water! No fun, dehydration.

WOOHOO for cute babies that get you to the front of the line:)

Everytime Anthony and I have been in line for a plane and "parents with young children" get to board first, we always look at each other and say "We gotta get ourselves one of those!"... now we have one!! We'll see what happens when we get on our first airplane with him:)

Man, Asia is the BEST for treating people with kids SUPER well while traveling! They always take us to the front of lines or to the diplomatic passport lines where no one is in them. It's GREAT!!

Boo to dehydration!! Sorry that happened - not a fun way to start off a vacation, especially one that was stressful in coming! Glad you got all the stops pulled out for y'all. There are definitely many perks to traveling with a baby! Aren't you glad it's over, and now you have an inkling more of what to expect? Can't wait to hear more about the Middle East!

Wow! I am so glad you had such a pleasent experience. Caroline was a champion flyer - also had her flying ASAP because of my job. But I am glad you guys made it safely. I am sorry you get sick so fast!

eww...sick on a flight - that's no fun! So sorry :( But I'm glad Aashini did so well - YAY! :)

I always encourage Shanti to cry when we are at airports because it usually gets us to the front of security lines and stuff - haha! Then she's usually fine once we get on the plane.

nursing makes me thirsty in the best of circumstances... so I can see how you got dehydrated so easily on a plane. I hope you feel better now and you've gotten lots of middle eastern water to re-quench yourself.

aashini looks so LONG! what are her stats as of 4 months? will they let you straighten her out to measure her yet?
