Baby Stuff :)

We've been working on Jellybean's room lately... There aren't any great pics yet, but I thought I'd show some... :) This is one of the shelves in the room... We found a store that had TONS of English kids books for about 10-25 cents each... so we bought a bunch :) We have all kinds of cool books like I read as a kid (Bernstein Bears, Sesame Street, Golden Books, etc. :) Very fun :) We have some more books that are "chunkier" and better for younger babies, but they're on the bottom shelf - and it's not ready to show yet (kinda messy) :)Here's Jellybean's dresser (well, the top of it anyway... you can see pics of the whole dresser on the other blog)... we have our cute new leather elephant bank on the right... and our fun coconut/turtle night light on the left :) In the middle of the dresser is a box that we have to take with us when we go to the hospital (when I go into labor)... We've decided to bank Jellybean's cord blood... There's a good amount of diseases that can be cured with cord blood right now, and there could be a lot more in the future... we're hoping to NEVER have to use it... but it's a pretty cool insurance plan :)
On another note... we're going green..... and blue and yellow.... we thought it would be cool (and way cheaper) to use cloth diapers... they have cool cloth diapers on the market now, we just couldn't say no :) We ordered a few to get us started - you can see some of them below. They're cool because they have snaps and change sizes and you can use them the entire time your kid is in diapers :) - Besides, they are in super fun colors :)

You got the right diapers guys! I LOVE our BGs. We tried those, Happy Heinies, and Fuzzi Bunz and the BGs won hands down. I hope they work well for Jelly Bean too!

Good for you guys! I was never brave enough for cloth diapers. But they really do look cute. You will have to get a tooshie pic for me! We can trade pics of tooshie and toes!

Love the turtle light, that is so cool!! I am so impressed that you are doing the cord bank- we thought about it, but never went with it- it's so expensive here. Hands down, you are the bravest new parents I have ever known to go with cloth diapers! I can not even imagine being able to do that! Hats off to you!!

I applaude you for using the cloth diapers... I hope they work well. Personally, I throw away anything that is covered in poop. Good luck!

I want to get the Giraffe-coconut light for Isaac's room when we're in Thailand next:)
I think we're gonna do cloth diapers as well...WAY cheaper in the long run and all of Asia has those convenient hoses beside every toilet just in case a little 'rinse' is necessary before sticking it the bag to be washed! I think we're gonna go with bum genius too, but the ONLY thing I don't like is the 'lack' of color selection! I think I want to get one or two from another brand just so I can have a nice dark blue pair, or bright red! FUN!

Yeah for cloth! I really like our bum genius diapers. I love fuzzi bunz too though, they have a slimmer fit. They are some work but I love that they are re-usable and save money!

Thanks for the pics and the update! And the DOD is the Department of Defense. They have schools all over the world on US military bases. I'll probably end up in the Pacific region somewhere (Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Guam, etc.)
I'm excited...I've had an itch to travel since college and it just never happened. Guess now is the time, eh? I'll keep you posted if I head your general direction.
