Jellybean FAQ

So I've had a lot of questions lately about the baby, so I thought I'd answer them here (or try to anyway :))

WHERE ARE YOU HAVING THE BABY?
We're having the baby right here in the city that we live in! We're lucky to live in a city that has good medical care, so we will be able to continue working up until the baby is born, and be able to work again soon after that (instead of having to travel far away and be out of station for 3+ months) :)
The hospital that we're having the baby at is great! It's only about a year and a half old, so everything is new! It is calld the "Max Super Speciality Hospital"... not specialty.... but Speciality (spe-she-al-la-tee).... so that's pretty fun :)
Here's a picture of the hospital:

WILL THE BABY BE A ROCKSTAR?
Yes, of course!

IS JELLYBEAN A BOY OR A GIRL????
Who knows? :) haha!! In our country, it is actually illegal to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl because of the high rate of female infanticide. The sign below is right outside of the ultrasound room where I have my ultrasounds:
We will be going back to Bangkok, Thailand in September, and we COULD find out there if Jellybean is a boy or a girl (if Jellybean was cooperative)... but we've decided to wait :) There are many reasons we decided to wait... but the main reason is... we just think it would be fun to wait :).... It will give me a little extra motivation during labor... and it would be fun to hear.... IT'S A.....
So.... it looks like we'll find out in December :)

WHEN ARE YOU DUE?

Sometime in mid-December... My due dates are either the 13th, 15th or 16th.... I'm hoping for around a week early :) haha!

WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO NAME YOUR BABY? WILL IT BE AN ENGLISH NAME OR A HINDI NAME? WILL THE BABY GO BY JELLYBEAN FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIFE??

We have NO idea! haha! We've thrown around names... and we thought we had a boy name for a while... but now we're not sure.... We might use a Hindi name, and we might not... haha! We keep changing our minds :) So yeah, nothing definite on that... So, it looks like that's another of the mysteries that will be solved in December... :)

Here are some Hindi Girl names (and meanings) that I've seen lately:
Trilochana - Three Eyed
Yogita - One who can concentrate
Should we pick one of those?

Hahaha! OK... so if you have any other questions - just ask :) You guys ROCK!

I love the pic of Max Med! I never noticed it was SpecialIty! haha! Better get crackin' on that boy name cause you know Aunt Emmy says it's a boy. ;)
Oh, and Andrea, you shouldn't be embarrassed about your admiration of Adam. You don't have to pretend he wrote that. :)

Andrea- I love this post!! It really "Cleared" up so many of my questions! I can't wait to hear the real name and to find out whether or not "It's a boy or girl.." I'm still hanging onto my inner feeling of girl for now! I do have a really important question for all us people in the "U.S"- How quickly will you be able to put up a post with the news or send out an email in December to let us know of jellybean's big arrival?! Pics included of course!!

Ok, so here are my questions...
1. Do they do epidurals in your country? Hope that's not too personal, but that would be one of my first questions... Inquiring minds want to know.
2. Are any family members coming in to help? Or do you have lots of co-workers in your area?
3. Do you think it's a boy or girl? Sometimes the mom just knows.
4. How are you feeling? Do you have to walk a lot?How hard is your daily life, being pregnant where you are?
5. Are you talking to the doctors in English or Hindi? Any funny vocab or miscommunication stories?
6. Can Jellybean have dual citizenship?
7. What do the local ladies say to you - advice, etc. In my culture they are very direct and a little too blunt. How 'bout there?
Hope that's not too much...I'm greatly enjoying your babywatch via blog. Thakns for sharing.
