Some Fun Random Stuff :)

This blog will be random - but oh well :) haha! Aashini is really into apples lately. She'll eat the ENTIRE apple - core & all!! It's hilarious! She is also really into spoons!! She's gotten pretty good at eating oatmal by herself with a spoon (it's great because it sticks to the spoon!). She loves doing it! We also have a bunch of those cute mini pink sample spoons from Baskin Robbins and she wants to use those for everything! When I'm eating popcorn, she'll bring me her pink spoon and want me to put the popcorn on it... and then she tries to keep it on the spoon and put it in her mouth - it's hilarious! This picture (below) cracks me up! We saw this mirror display thing that we thought would make some cute pictures... well, Aashini didn't like it - it freaked her out :)

Dressing Up!

Aashini LOVES to dress up!!!! We have a little purse with a few dress up things in it and she LOVES to pull them all out and put them on :) We have this cute little coin scarf that jingles a lot :) She thinks it's a lot of fun :)
I think she kinda looks like a little gypsy :)
She actually loves to pose for the camera now - it's so funny :)
This is one of her favorite poses! :)

Haha! She cracks me up!

Random Stuff :)

Here are a few random pictures that I had that I thought I should post ;)
Here (below) is a picture of Aashini's new puzzle :) I thought it was fun - it has very South Asian looking animals and it's in Hindi & English! Fun :)
Something cute that Aashini does.... in the mornings Aashini likes to get in her little house and read her little Bible - too cute! She's having her quiet time :) haha! fun :)
Our friends have this great chair. When Aashini is over at their house, she always wants to sit in it - she thinks it's awesome :)
Aashini has a cute stroller for her dolls and stuffed animals :) She loves pushing dolls and her stuffed dog around in it - it's really cute :)
Our friends had this cute little dog and Aashini loved it!! It was so tiny and cute!!! She loved petting it and playing with it :)
OK, so not the most exciting post - but I thought I would share anyway!!

Girly Girl :)

Sometimes Aashini is such a girly girl :) It's really cute - she loves accessories :) The other day she came running up to me because she was so proud that she had put this hat on herself - haha! It cracked me up :)She loves to wear this sweater that has tassels and bells! Notice that she has a necklace on :) She wears them all the time! We only brought a couple back from the states and they're already on their last leg :) She loves bangles too!
She also LOVES shoes! She always wants to take hers off and play with them. When we go into a house here, we take off our shoes, so there is always a bunch of shoes near the door - and she always wants to play with them!! She loves shoes and was really excited (and a little confused) to see this shoe (below) that was almost as tall as she was!
She also LOVES purses! She will walk all around the house with a purse on her arm! It's hilarious! She loves to climb in this window (below) and thinks she has to have her purse on so that she can climb - it's so funny!
So here are just a couple pictures that I think are cute :)
Just for fun :)

Aashini's Tricycle!!!

Aashini got a new tricycle for a special Valentine's day present :) She had so much fun playing with her friend's tricycle that she just had to have one :) Look how fun it is! This is a typical South Asian tricycle - complete with a handle in the back! The handle is awesome because you can both push and steer with it! It has a bar you can put in front of her if she was smaller and little stands at the bottom to put her feet on if she can't reach the pedals yet :)It also has a special bar that can go on the bottom and turn it into a rocking horse (tricycle).
Her favorite part about her tricycle?.... The button on the top! It makes laser sounds, honking sounds, car alarm sounds - well a bunch of different sounds - AND has flashing lights!!!
She rides around the house in it. She can reach the pedals but has trouble keeping her feet on pedals yet. She loves to walk it forward - but especially backwards!! She also loves going to the park with it :) The first time we went, she wanted to push her tricycle :) haha!
Then later she wanted to ride again :) (If you look behind Adam in the picture you'll see a gate - the gate is to keep the cows out so that they don't eat all the green things and make a mess in the park).
So that is Aashini's new Tricycle :) It's so fun!!!!

Funny Things - Clothes!

Western clothes here in South Asia are quite different than Western Clothes in America :) They have their own special style here :) Here's just a small taste of the clothing... We got these two outfits from the Kumars (the family we lived with in M-town). They gave her these outfits when she was born :)This is actually one of Aashini's favorite outfits. It's all one big sweater (even the pants). You also can't really see the awesome fringe and the bells that are all on the bottom of the sweater. She looks at it all day when she's wearing it and she cries for it when we take it off! haha! I didn't know she would love clothes or anything like that yet - it's pretty funny! In this pic below you can see Aashini playing at her favorite hang-out - by the window ;) She loves to look out the window and climb on it :) She also loves to carry her purses when she's climbing on at the window - not sure why :)
Now, this outfit is my personal favorite! It looks like it's from the 70s :)
Here she is in her window! :)
And this picture just made me laugh :)

Funny Things - Hair

Aashini's hair (or lack of hair) always seems to be in most of our conversations with our national friends. They always ask about her hair in a very concerned tone (most South Asians are born with TONS of hair). We had a lady ask us the other day if she was a boy or a girl. We told her she was a girl and the lady then said: "If she is a girl, then why doesn't she have any hair?" haha! Well, all I can say is that it's coming :) It really doesn't bother me when people ask about her hair and say things - it is actually quite entertaining :) It's so light colored, so it's hard to see - but really, it's there! Someone gave us a balloon the other day, so we played around a little with static electricity :) See below:I think she's making a funny face :)
Then she thought it would be fun to do it herself :)

I can't wait to be able to "do" her hair and put clips and bows in it (if she'll keep them in) :) I can actually put a clip in her hair now (and it will even stay), but it looks really funny since her hair is see-through, it just looks like a clip is floating on her head :) haha! Someday soon.... :)

Buddies :)

Do you remember Aashini's buddies Hannah and Hazel? They were all born within a couple of weeks of each other. The last time we saw and took pictures with Hannah, they looked like this...
Well, Hannah was in town yesterday and they got to see each other!
They got to play together for a little bit :) They had fun playing with each other :) Hannah kept wanting to put toys in Aashini's mouth - it was funny :) We have two little stools and they were so cute both sitting on them :)
Here they are again :) As you can see Aashini has her mouth open in almost all of these pictures :) haha! That's what she does now if we say "smile".
Now an update on Hazel :) This was the last time Aashini & Hazel were together (below):
Hazel now lives in Texas and is doing good :) She's going to have a little SISTER in June :) Here's a recent pic of Hazel :)

As you can see, they both have a lot more hair :) haha! Aashini will catch up one day :)
Yay for buddies!

Aashini's Kite Day!

Yesterday was Kite Day (to read more about that make sure you check out the other blog - http://www.southasiarocks.blogspot.com/)...
We went to M-town for the first time after being back in South Asia and had a lot of fun! Here's Jaya with Aashini (look at Aashini's crazy hair!).
She really does have some hair (you can see it in this picture below! - really!!)... Aashini got a lot of attention and had a lot of fun :) I don't know how many Mobile Phones (Cell Phones :)) have Aashini's picture on them, but there are a ton!
Aashini loved playing with the kites and the kite accessories ;)
The rolls of string were her favorites!
Here she is on the ladder - she thought it was so much fun! She even climbed up on it by herself! (don't worry, we were right next to her! Really, I'm safety conscious - see the post below!)
She thought it was awesome ;)
We had a few broken kites here and there, and Aashini loved to play with them! This one was her favorite and she just kept running around with it!
She also got to play with chalk for the first time :) (that's her name written in Hindi in chalk if you're wondering) :)
It was a very fun and eventful day for her :) She was sooo exhausted by the end of the day, it was a hard trip for her! She wouldn't really take any naps because she was so excited all day :) It was cute! If you want to see more pictures, check out: Facebook Pictures (you don't have to have Facebook to see the pics)...
