Back in ICU

Aashini is back in the ICU :( We took her to the doctor yesterday because she had a cold and congestion, but her breathing was a little labored and she wasn’t eating very well. The doctor looked at her and took a lung x-ray and told us that she we needed to keep a close eye on her. That night, she still wasn’t really eating and was kind of lethargic, so we called the doctor and he told us to come into the hospital. They checked her into the NICU. We had to leave her there for the night and come back home – that wasn’t very fun :(

Today everything was about the same. They diagnosed her with Bronchiolitis (click on it to learn more). They say that it can take up to a week for a preemie with Bronchiolitis to feel better. They moved her from the NICU to the Pediatric ICU. She’s there right now. They only allow one person in there with her at a time which is REALLY hard right now. Adam is there spending the night with her right now. Right after I left, she was awake a little and was wanting food, which is great! They can’t give her much food right now and they have to feed her through a feeding tube so that she doesn’t aspirate.

Please lift us up right now…

Please Pr:
- That Aashini’s breathing will become normal again
- That the doctors will have wisdom to know what to do
- That Aashini will have an appetite and want to eat
- That she will get well SOON! (We are really sick of being in the hospital!)
- Please also lift up the family that is staying in the room next to us. Their child has a severe case of Jaundice and is in very critical condition. They have a pundit (H’ndu pr’est) in their room right now doing w’ship so that they will get well. Please pr that Adam will have opportunities to talk to them and share with them about J’sus.

THANKS! You guys ROCK! Thanks soooo much for prying for us and really caring for us during these hard times. You guys are AWESOME!

YOU GUYS ROCK!!

A Pic (below) of Adam and Aashini before going to the hospital. She wasn’t feeling good and didn’t want us to put her down. This is the only way she would sleep.

I have had the feeling that something was wrong. I've been talking to big brother about you all and he is paying attention to your needs. You know he has a way of taking care of all these times of trouble. Please be at peace.

Of course we are talking to dad about y'all - I know you must be tired of hospitals...and just plain tired.
Are you able to nurse? Please, please keep us updated!!!

I will definitely continue to talk to dad about everything. He is there with you and loves you and Ashini. I know that everything will work out because his book promises it.

Love you all!

Hey Guys,

I don't know if you remember me or not but we were members with you guys at North Shore right before you guys left. I think you had a couple of my kids in your sunday school or children's church. Anyways, I saw your blog off of Bronie's and wanted to say hi. I've been looking at your blog for a couple of weeks and have been meaning to say hi, just had never taken the time. Know that you guys are in my prayers. Your little one is just beautiful. I believe God allows nothing without purpose so maybe he allowed this so that you guys could witness to this other family. I will be praying for all of you. Especially for peace and rest and a quick healing too. Take Care!

Hey. I'm sorry you are experiencing this so close to Christmas! Aashini has been a miracle from the beginning and I know that there is a fabulous plan for our sweet little girl. I will be hoping for peace in your hearts and guidance for the Dr. And remember, our Dad is the one who is the mightest physician of them all.

How amazing that we can be assured that He knows what it's like to be a helpless babe in a manger!?! Cast your burdens upon Him for He cares for you. Grace and peace to the Shef family... we are asking this all be done with BEFORE Christmas!

We'll keep lifting you up and trusting that His perfect peace will fill your hearts and calm your anxiety as you go through this time with precious Ashini! That picture of Adam with her is so precious- what a reminder that our Father is holding us like that all the time! In fact, it's even more touching because just a few feet away, that's exactly how Eden is sleeping- Rahul and her are both out like a light in the rocking chair, because that's the only way she will sleep right now too! We need to get our sweet little girls better in time for Christmas!
Love you three! Hang in there and if you need to chat, you know where we are! ;-)

We are lifting you guys up too! We were afraid something was wrong since you hadn't posted in awhile and the other night Jacob goes, "I'm going to call them...oh I don't know their number!" So, we are thinking about you guys and hope she gets better soon and gets out of the hospital soon!
