Updates...

We got to hold her today!!! Yeah!!!
I don’t have tons to update you with… She’s doing some better… She still has a LOT of congestion and stuff in her lungs, but she’s been able to cough today, so that’s great!! They have upped the amount of food she can eat so that’s great too! She’s been pretty happy today and much more alert ;)
Thanks soooo much for your prs :) – You guys really ROCK!!!!

Over the Hump??

The docs are now thinking that Aashini has Bronchial Pneumonia... BUT the good news is that we think that her "sickness" has peaked! The docs think that the worst is over! We are hoping that is true!

This evening Aashini seemed to be feeling MUCH better. She was alert and awake (no longer lethargic) and was hungry! Whoo hoo!!!

It looks like we'll probably be in the hospital about 4-5 more days... so we'll probably be in the hospital through Christmas... oh well :) We'll have to wait and see :) We're just so happy that she's feeling better :) Thanks sooo much for your prs! That's totally the reason she's feeling better!

Back in ICU

Aashini is back in the ICU :( We took her to the doctor yesterday because she had a cold and congestion, but her breathing was a little labored and she wasn’t eating very well. The doctor looked at her and took a lung x-ray and told us that she we needed to keep a close eye on her. That night, she still wasn’t really eating and was kind of lethargic, so we called the doctor and he told us to come into the hospital. They checked her into the NICU. We had to leave her there for the night and come back home – that wasn’t very fun :(

Today everything was about the same. They diagnosed her with Bronchiolitis (click on it to learn more). They say that it can take up to a week for a preemie with Bronchiolitis to feel better. They moved her from the NICU to the Pediatric ICU. She’s there right now. They only allow one person in there with her at a time which is REALLY hard right now. Adam is there spending the night with her right now. Right after I left, she was awake a little and was wanting food, which is great! They can’t give her much food right now and they have to feed her through a feeding tube so that she doesn’t aspirate.

Please lift us up right now…

Please Pr:
- That Aashini’s breathing will become normal again
- That the doctors will have wisdom to know what to do
- That Aashini will have an appetite and want to eat
- That she will get well SOON! (We are really sick of being in the hospital!)
- Please also lift up the family that is staying in the room next to us. Their child has a severe case of Jaundice and is in very critical condition. They have a pundit (H’ndu pr’est) in their room right now doing w’ship so that they will get well. Please pr that Adam will have opportunities to talk to them and share with them about J’sus.

DUE DATE!

Today is my due date! haha!! (or tomorrow...) It's funny... when I first got pregnant I never would have thought that I would have an almost 6 week old girl ON my due date! haha! The last 6 weeks have been pretty crazy, but very fun!
We decided to try and take some fun Christmas pics with Aashini this week :) Since she's so tiny, we thought it would be fun to take some pics of her in a stocking :) We took TONS of pics :) haha!

I LOVE this pic :) I think it's fun :) Look how big her hands are! (I think they're big anyway) :) Does that mean she'll be tall? or does it just mean she has big hands like me? haha! who knows :)

We went to the doctor yesterday. She had to get a shot. She took it like a champ but definitely let us know that she didn't like it :) haha!

We've been trying to give Aashini some "tummy time" every day... Well, apparently she doesn't like being on her tummy because almost every time we put her on her stomach, SHE ROLLS OVER!! She's a super star at rolling over... I didn't think she was supposed to be able to do that yet, so we mentioned it to our doctor yesterday and he was really surprised. He said that she shouldn't be able to do that until at least 3 months! I'm a proud mama :) I have a super baby :) haha! Actualy, I think it's really because she doesn't like laying on her stomach :) haha! I've been trying to get a video of her rolling over to put on the blog, but she hasn't been cooperating very well... so I'll try to get that this week :)

Look Alikes??

So, after a baby is born, you hear a lot from people... "She looks like you..." "she looks like Adam..." "she looks like...." Well, you get the picture :)

Well, I was looking at some old pics of when I was first born and thought it was pretty funny... In the pic below, Aashini is on the left and I'm on the right... Do we look alike? Adam seems to think so...

So then I was looking at this pic below of my mom with me... and then a pic of me with Aashini...

So Adam and my fam seem to think that Aashini looks a lot like I looked when I was born... but I'm not sure....

Personally, I think that Aashini looks more like the singer Sting... haha!

AASHINI IS ONE MONTH OLD!!!!!!

WOW! This first month was pretty crazy and it really went fast!!

So I decided to copy my friend Annie and take Aashini's pic with her stuffed bear each month, so you can see how big she grows :) I really wanted her to wear this cute green dress... it's a tiny dress, but it still really swallows her! :) haha!

I thought this pic was cute! :)

It was pretty cold when we were taking pics, so we put the heater on Aashini - she loved it!

She was tired too, but she kept checking out her hands :)

Aashini had a few other firsts this month... one was her first trip to one of our favorite restaurants here "The Big Chill" (pic below)... She got to hang out with her Uncle Neill :) ... She also got to experience her first earthquake (it was mine and Adam's first too!)... it wasn't a big one (4 point something)... but it was definitely interesting :) We had a few other firsts, but I can't remember them right now... oh well, they'll have to wait for another post :)

More Aashini Pics :)

We took our first family pic (outside of the hospital) last night! :) Aashini had a doc's appointment yesterday. She's up to 2.72 kg (about 5.98 lbs) :) - she's past her birthweight!! Go Aashini!!!Here's a pic (below) of Aashini relaxin' with her snowman :)

It was really hard to take this pic (below) because she's so squirmy... but you can see her cute shirt that says "I love my daddy" :)

Aashini loves to lock her fingers together when she eats :) This is a pic from the other night when she was taking her vitamins :) (she has to take vitamins and calcium until her due date).

When we gave her a bath yesterday, she actually kinda liked it and didn't cry very much! Either she's starting to like baths, or we've gotten way better at giving them :)

She likes hanging out in her cute towel afterwards :)

WHOA!

OK, so at the begining of my pregnancy I lost about 10 lbs and really had trouble putting on weight... BUT towards the end of my 2nd trimester I started putting on the pounds! I didn't feel like I was eating more than normal or anything like that, but towards the end I put on about 10 lbs every two weeks. Before my delivery, I had put on about 60+ pounds! Aparently, a HUGE amount of that was from all the swelling... I had some SERIOUS swelling! After I had the baby- by the time I had left the hospital, I had already lost 50 pounds! In the pic below you can see the swelling I had just a few days before being admitted into the hospital, and my legs the day I got home from the hospital :) The swelling was actually worse than that, but that's the only pic I have....

OK, so not the most exciting post, just thought I'd share.... it actually cracks me up to see how much swelling I had!

FUN!

BEFORE:AFTER: Today we went up to the hospital to visit James and Emily and Nathan & Kari came to visit too :) We had fun taking pictures of all the girls :) It was funny :) Kari was due at the end of November, but Emily and I were both due in December :) - we all had November babies :)

Emily's baby Hazel was born on November 30th (3 days early)

Aashini was born on November 7th (6 weeks early)
Kari's baby Hannah was born on November 19th (2-4 days early)

All 3 babies were EARLY!

They were sooo funny when we put them together! Aashini's arms were going crazy and flying everywhere... she ended up hitting both girls in the face...

Hazel is here!!! She came at 11:06pm tonight (November 30)! She weighed 3.51 kg (7.72 lbs)

Here she is! Emily wanted me to tell you that she hadn't been cleaned off yet in these pictures :)
