It's a GIRL!!!!

It's a GIRL! I'm sorry I haven't been able to post (no wi-fi at the hospital) :) On Wednesday (Nov 25) I had started to feel worse than I had before. My vision had blurred a few times that day and my blood pressure was getting higher, so we called my doc that evening and she said we needed to check in. We checked in and they monitored me for a few hours (and my BP kept slowly climbing) and my doctor decided we needed to go ahead and have the baby. Since I had a previous c-section, she didn't want to induce, so we scheduled the c-section for the next day. It was a TOTALLY different experience from last time! If anyone is interested, I'll write about it, but I was totally lucid during the entire c-section (which I wasn't last time) and I was talking with the attendants about Bollywood movies while they were stitching me up - it was fun :) (until the numbness wore off....)
Anyway, here's Diya's Info (if you can't read it, you can click on the pictures to see them bigger):

Here is Diya right after she was born:
And another one Adam took right after she was born:
Here she is on her 2nd day :) She looks a lot different from Aashini. She has dark hair and different feet, hands and mouth. She also looks a lot more darker complected (and as of now doesn't have any jaundice)...
Aashini got to meet her for the first time on the 2nd day. Aashini was so excited! She kept poking at her and naming things (eyes, nose, mouth, etc). At one point Diya moved and Aashini was surprised and said: WHOA! (maybe she thought she was a doll before :) haha!). Aashini really loves her baby sister! She's also pretty protective. Our neighbor came by today and was holding Diya and Aashini kept crying. She was afraid they were going to take her.
In this pic you can see her baby bracelet. Most people here wait a while to give the baby a name (or wait for the Hindu priest to name the baby), so they call the babies: b/o (baby of) Andrea.
This picture made me laugh :)
We got home today and our house was decorated so cool!
Our friends the Washas and their kids decorated our house to welcome in little Diya! There were fun decorated diyas all over and paisleys. It was really fun :)
More pictures to come!

35 Weeks!

I am now officially more pregnant than I've ever been (I had Aashini at 34 weeks)! I definitely feel pregnant! I know I'm supposed to keep getting bigger but I just don't see how that's possible! Here's a few belly pics... I look pretty rough :) haha! And yes, my belly is "pointy" looking. I always end up with a torpedo-looking belly!
So I really have no idea what is going to happen as far as WHEN we're going to have the baby and HOW. We originally thought we were just going to plan a c-section because we didn't think we could do a VBAC (natural birth) here in our city. If you want to know more, I'll explain more, but basically we didn't think the hospital was equipped for it. A couple of weeks ago we found out that the hospital is equipped for it and my doc does them all the time and actually prefers to do them.

With all of that said, that means that we could possibly have a natural birth. There are a TON of factors involved with that though... first of all, for her to even consider it, everything has to be going perfect (my Blood Pressure has to be perfect and I can't have any big signs of preeccampsia, along with a few other things), AND I have to go into labor on my own (she won't induce me for a VBAC). So, along with all of that, we weren't planning on having a VBAC, so we didn't do an extra visa run, which means that we have to leave the country by January 7.... SO, that means that I can't have the baby past the due date because we need about a month to get the paperwork in AND a baby can't fly unless they're at least a month old.... SO I have no idea what is going to happen :) (I sure said "so" a lot!).
We went to the doc yesterday (thank goodness my doc is back in town!!). My BP is a little higher than normal, and my weight registered much higher than it should (I gained 4 kg ~ 8.8 lbs in 2 weeks) - which is a sign of preecclampsia. It was a different scale than normal at the doc's office, so I think that's why (at my home scale I had only gained about 2 kg). I'm also swelling in my hands, face (yes, my lips, eyes & nose... so nice) and some leg swelling. It's normal to have swelling in pregnancy, but the way I have swelling is usually related to preecclampsia, so my doc was a little concerned. She wanted to CHECK ME INTO THE HOSPITAL! I am NOT ready to go into the hospital, so we talked it through and she decided to have me run some tests and come back on Tuesday.

In the picture below you can see how I feel about all of this - haha! I look scary in that pic!
Sooooo.... all of that said.... I have NO idea what is going to happen :) Hopefully I won't have to be checked into the hospital on Tuesday but we're going to be prepared for it anyway (my bags are packed!)... I'll keep ya posted!!!
You guys ROCK!!!

27 Weeks!!

I'm 27 weeks! Yay!!! I've made it to the 3rd Trimester!
I've been feeling pretty good - much better than this time last pregnancy! Thank Goodness! I've been pretty tired the last few days and having a lot more aches and pains though - so I think some of the 3rd trimester fun is setting in - haha!
So enough about me... here's a funny Aashini picture. She fell asleep eating the other day in the funniest position - it cracked me up! :)

12 Weeks!!!!!

I'm 12 weeks!! Yay!! I'm so glad to be in the 2nd trimester but I'm ready to feel the 2nd trimester! I really can't complain, I don't feel anywhere near as bad as last pregnancy, but I'm ready to feel good again :) Last pregnancy I started feeling good around 16 weeks, so hopefully I'll feel better by then :) I had an ultrasound yesterday and Pop Rock is doing good :) Everything is right on schedule and the heart was beating and all that awesome stuff :) I do have a little bit of a placenta problem like last time. It's a little separated but nothing like last time. It's only separated about 1 cm, so they said that with rest I should be just fine. Please lift that up :)
OK, so keeping with Tradition, here are some belly pics - haha! I always feel so silly posting these :) I am WAY bigger this pregnancy at 12 weeks than last time!! (I think this is what I looked like at 20 weeks last time).
So, for some comparison... Here is what I looked like last pregnancy at 12 weeks...... And this pregnancy (I even wore the same shirt)...
I'm HUGE! It's crazy!!

Guess What???

We're having a baby in December!!!!
I'm about 5 weeks along!
Our due date is about December 8 :) We're Excited!!!!!
So... we need your help. Before Aashini was born, we called her Jellybean :)... sooooo.... so that we don't have to call this baby "Little Baby" the entire pregnancy, we need your help coming up with a fun Little Baby name.... Should we stick with the candy theme? (Jr. Mint, Runts, Smarties, etc)... or go with the bean thing? (Black Eyed Pea, Kidney Bean - haha!, etc)... :) Do you guys have any ideas?? :)
Also, please pr for this pregnancy that it's NOTHING like the last one (except for the end result :))!
You guys ROCK!!!
And... because I don't like doing a post without pictures... here's a random Aashini picture :)

DUE DATE!

Today is my due date! haha!! (or tomorrow...) It's funny... when I first got pregnant I never would have thought that I would have an almost 6 week old girl ON my due date! haha! The last 6 weeks have been pretty crazy, but very fun!
We decided to try and take some fun Christmas pics with Aashini this week :) Since she's so tiny, we thought it would be fun to take some pics of her in a stocking :) We took TONS of pics :) haha!
This pic below is so funny, she's making a hilarious face!
This one is funny too :)
I LOVE this pic :) I think it's fun :) Look how big her hands are! (I think they're big anyway) :) Does that mean she'll be tall? or does it just mean she has big hands like me? haha! who knows :)
We went to the doctor yesterday. She had to get a shot. She took it like a champ but definitely let us know that she didn't like it :) haha!
We've been trying to give Aashini some "tummy time" every day... Well, apparently she doesn't like being on her tummy because almost every time we put her on her stomach, SHE ROLLS OVER!! She's a super star at rolling over... I didn't think she was supposed to be able to do that yet, so we mentioned it to our doctor yesterday and he was really surprised. He said that she shouldn't be able to do that until at least 3 months! I'm a proud mama :) I have a super baby :) haha! Actualy, I think it's really because she doesn't like laying on her stomach :) haha! I've been trying to get a video of her rolling over to put on the blog, but she hasn't been cooperating very well... so I'll try to get that this week :)

3rd Trimester! & FAQ!

Whoo hoo!!! This week I’m 28 weeks, so I’m officially in the 3rd Trimester!!! Yea!! I see the light at the end of the tunnel :) haha! Don’t get me wrong, being pregnant has been fun (most of the time)… :but I’m ready for Jellybean to come! Here’s my 28 week belly picture :)

OK, so it’s about time for another FAQ… After the Previous FAQ (click on this to see it)
I’ve had quite a few questions… so here they are:

1. Do they do epidurals in your country? Hope that's not too personal, but that would be one of my first questions... Inquiring minds want to know.
They do! Actually here they call epidurals: “Pain Free Delivery” – haha! But although they have epidurals, I’m planning on going Natural! Epidurals scare me :) haha! The actually scare me more than natural birth :) At my last ultrasound, I had a “low-lying placenta”… so if by 35 weeks, it’s still “low-lying” then I’ll have to have a C-Section… (and an epidural) so I’m “hoping” that it won’t be low-lying!!

2. Do you think it's a boy or girl? Sometimes the mom just knows.
I actually have no clue! Everyone keeps telling me that they think it’s a boy, so I guess maybe I’m leaning that way, but I really have no clue :)

3. How are you feeling? Do you have to walk a lot? How hard is your daily life, being pregnant where you are?
My daily life here definitely isn’t has hard as it could be :) Adam has been awesome and cooks almost every meal… I think since I’ve been pregnant I’ve only cooked 2 or 3 times… I’ve had a lot of problems with the heat… it’s REALLY hot here, and a couple of months ago we were having 125 degree days… and anytime I get hot, I get sick… I’ve been overheating easily… so I haven’t been able to do much… so that’s made it hard… It’s actually driving me crazy!!! The weather could change any day now and get cooler, so I’m definitely excitedly waiting for that!! Here's a pic below of one of the awesome meals that Adam made this week - Paneer Pitas - YUM!

The public transportation here is awesome! So I don't have to walk too much... I can catch a rickshaw anywhere... and taxis and the bus are easy... so I don't have to do too much walking (unless I want to) :)

4. What do the local ladies say to you - advice, etc. In my culture they are very direct and a little too blunt. How 'bout there?
I haven’t gotten tons of advice yet… the local ladies are very direct and blunt here, but they give more advice once the baby is out rather than while it’s in… Only people you are close to will talk about your pregnancy while you’re pregnant… (one of those evil-eye kind of things)… but they tell me to rest and eat fruits and veggies, don’t wear tight clothes, etc… But I’m definitely preparing myself for the advice I’ll get once the baby is born.

5. How quickly will you be able to put up a post with the news or send out an email in December to let us know of jellybean's big arrival?! Pics included of course!!
I’m working on trying to figure out how to get the news out fast… right now it looks like I’ll call someone who can post on my blog ASAP (that will have name/boy or girl/info)… but you’ll probably have to wait for pictures until we get home… 2 days in the hospital for normal delivery and 3 for a c-section… so the pics will have to wait a couple of days probably… but I’ll do it as soon as I can :)

Any other questions? Ask away! I’m so ready for Jellybean to come!!! We could have the baby in 10-12 weeks!! Crazy!!!
