I just saw this as a "draft"... I never posted it!! oops!
Diya is 4!  I posted these pics on Facebook, but I wanted to make sure I did a blog post on her birthday too :)
Diya wanted a fun Rockstar party!  When everyone got there, they got Rockstar Supplies....  Colored Hair, Bling Rings, Headphone Mics, Glitter "tattoos" (sticker), and Silly Bands :)
Here are the girls getting decked out :)

Diya - Annual Day - Retro Post - March 2013

Diya had her Annual day at the end of the school year.  Things got crazy and I forgot to post about it.  So... better late than never!
Their grade did a patriotic dance.
Diya LOVED it and was so proud of herself!  She talked about it for WEEKS!
She was a little distracted by the guys behind her waving flags though :) haha!
Here's Diya with one of her best friends... Heemanya.
  They're cute :)
 I like Diya's pose here :)
It was a cute little dance :)
Here's a video of her performance if you want to see it :)

Here she is afterwards :)
The ride home :) haha!

Diya's Fancy Dress Competition!

Diya had her first "Fancy Dress Competition" a month back.  She chose to be a "Fashion Designer" :) haha!    Diya is all into fashion.  She knew when colors matched before she knew the names of colors! haha!  We always ask her for fashion advice :) haha!
The other kids dressed up like all sorts of things... Religi0us leaders, political positions, different food items, job/occupations, etc...

This is Diya's best friend. She dressed up as Healthy Food vs. Junk Food... I think they forgot arm holes in her costume :)

Her other good friend had an interesting topic too... It was against b0mbs.  It was pretty graphic for a Pre-K speaking competition (notice the picture with the leg blown off... you should have seen the back!)
This is the bully in Diya's class.... he looks like a bully hunh?
I love this kid :)  He made the best faces :)   He talked against Dowry.
 Here's Diya speaking!!!
Here she is running off when she was done! haha!
They made her come back up and pose for pics (which she had NO trouble doing :) haha!) :)
This is the kid that won the speaking competition :)  he was so cute!
They turned on some music and let the kids dance while the tallied the scores.
The music got loud at one point and the kids thought it was funny :)  (This girl is one year older than all the other kids in their class... that's why she's so tall!)
 Diya dancing!
She had a good time! haha!
Here's the video of the competition :)

Funny Diya!

Diya "Speaking Hindi".  I'm not sure if she's really speaking Hindi or just saying some real Hindi with some "made-up words" mixed in, but she says it with such inflection (or drama) haha!  She cracks me up :) (oh, and we had just taken her hair down, that's why it looks crazy)...

Diya's 3rd Birthday!!!

On November 26th, Diya turned THREE!!!  I can't believe she's three! :)   On Thanksgiving we had a get together with our friends, so we did a Birthday celebration while we were there :)   Here's Diya's Cake  :)  (Diya loves Chocolate and GEMS - our version of M&Ms :))
I never got a great picture... but here's Diya waiting for her cake!
 Everyone singing for her :)
.... blowing out her candles :)
As per "South Asian Style", she cut the first piece of cake :)
 Diya LOVES chocolate!!!
Another South Asian tradition that we love is giving gifts to your friends on your birthday.  Diya loved giving gifts to her friends :) It makes your birthday a lot more fun to celebrate your friends on your birthday :)  Fun idea!
That Saturday they had a birthday party at her school for the kids with November birthdays.
 She LOVED it :)
Here's Diya with her teacher :)
Here's Diya with one of her fellow November Birthday buddies.  This girl is in her class but I think is a year older than her (and everyone else in the class!) :)  They are good buddies though :)
Diya had a good birthday! :)

If you want to go back at look at previous birthday posts... here ya go!

Diya's 2nd Birthday Party - Joint party - Princess party  (will post this one later... it was on the day my Meniere's Disease started, so I never ended up posting on it...I'll go back and do it soon!)

Silver Medal Winner!

A couple of weekends ago Diya had an awards ceremony.  They had a big Sports Day at school the week before, and the winners of the races got awards and medals :)
They started off the ceremony with a Taekwondo presentation.  It was super cute!!
They also did a yoga demonstration.
At the end of the demonstration, the yoga instructor stood in the middle and did a SUPER LONG hand stand... half of the time he had his legs in the air, and the other half, on his head!
It was pretty impressive!
Next was the awards!  Diya won the Silver Medal in the MasterChef Race!  :)
She was super proud to be standing there up on stage :)
Here she is after she got her medal :)  She thought it was awesome :)
Here she is leaving the stage... that's Ritu Ma'am with her... one of her teachers.
Here is Diya with her head teacher Sonal Ma'am :)  During the awards, we were sitting on the front row and Aashini was cheering and waving loudly!  It was super cute!!
Some of the other races were funny!!  The Debang Race...
I'm not sure which race this was, but all the kids had mustaches (even the girls!)
Aashini was dying to get up on stage!  After it was all over, she ran up on stage and we took her picture :) haha!
Diya with her Silver Medal!!!
... and another picture of Diya with her medal :)
... and one more :) haha! :)
Way to Go Diya!!!! :)

Here's a video of Diya getting her award... it's not the best video... i was trying to take pictures and video at the same time! haha!  It's not the best, but it's pretty cute :)
(they announce Diya's group while the other kids are still on the stage - the beginning of the video).
